I know the company has a very specific selection process, but it sounds very odd to me that a company would go to such effort to select employees to travel on a “secret” vacation. I know that this will never happen.

I’d guess that they are selected based on the number of people they can get to join the trip, and also based on the amount of time the company says they can spend with them. Or maybe they are selected because they have a certain level of skill.

We could use the company’s software to train the vendors, but it’s clear that the company doesn’t think much of the people it hires. The company is just too small to hire dozens of highly-skilled, well-trained humans. It’s a tough job, and the only way a vendor can make it through is by using the company’s software.
