I’ve been a Facebook and Instagram girl for years. The social media sites are great for connecting with other girls in the world and connecting with other girls in your area. It’s also great for making new friends and building an online community. However, while I’m a girl, I’m also a person. So I am a girl with a girl’s perspective. That means that I am a girl who is female.
We love seeing how our friends are doing on all the sites we use daily, so we decided to do a little bit of a study on how the girls in our area are doing. We found that Facebook has some pretty significant gender gaps when it comes to engagement. The average women is engaging on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter at around 14% compared to Facebook alone at 42%. Instagram and Twitter have even more gaps, which I think is really interesting.
I wonder if this is because women tend to be more engaged on social media if they have fewer friends and don’t have a lot of friends of their own? Or if they are more interested in sharing with their friends, which they likely wouldn’t be if they were alone? Whatever the reason, women seem to be more active on these sites, and it’s not hard to see why.
Because we are social creatures we probably think, “Oh, she’s probably there to make people feel better, and I’m probably not going to see her if I don’t want to,” and then we think, “Oh, but my friends are on social media and they are going to find me.” A friend, however, is not a friend for eternity. A friend is someone you talk to about anything.
We are social creatures, and our friendships are made on Facebook. We get to share our favorite childhood games with our friends, and we get to show our friends that we care about them. Friends are not friends for eternity. Friends are people you talk to about anything.
Social media is a big part of the new games industry too. It’s a tool that allows us to share our ideas, ideas with a wider audience, and helps us communicate with others. In the past, if I wanted to talk to a friend about a game I was working on, I would send him a quick note on Facebook with my contact information.
