There is a reason why I love New York City so much. It is a city of restaurants. There are so many different styles of food, from sushi to burritos to paninis, and they are all of a high quality. I’ve had many a meal at places like Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s, and Red Lobster, and I can’t wait to go there again soon.
Well, not all of them. There are a few of them that are so bad that I would probably stop going to them unless they were a family-style place. I would be lying if I said that I have never been to a restaurant that was so bad that I would never eat there again. However, when I go I can never count the number of times I have to tell myself, “I would never do that to my kids.
The problem is, I’m going to have to do that to my kids too. The only way I can escape it is to tell my kids that if they ever ask me about the restaurant, I will say that I have to go because it was terrible. Luckily, the parents come in and remind me that it is not a restaurant.
This is the reason why I haven’t been to a restaurant in the past three years, and why I still can’t remember when I last ordered a drink and why the waiter took out a picture of me from six years ago. This, in brief, is what going to a new restaurant looks like when you have a kid.
So my son went to a new restaurant in the past three years and the only reason I stayed away from him was because I was afraid that he would just ask me why he was there again (because he was a little too old to remember). Now that I am an adult, I can see that these new restaurants are a lot better because I can go there again.
