Owen’s, a restaurant in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, has been a beacon of health and happiness for many decades. The restaurant, which has a reputation for its healthful vegetarian cuisine, boasts of being one of the few places in Seattle that does not serve alcohol. On top of that, the restaurant is a family-friendly place.
The restaurant is a prime example of what I’m talking about. But, for the record, after this interview I had with owner Andrew Owens I don’t think he needed help remembering his culinary traditions. He knows the difference between a steak and a hamburger.
In addition to its vegetarian offerings, the restaurant serves a variety of alcoholic beverages. I can’t think of a better example of the benefits of a non-alcoholic meal in a restaurant than this place.
For the record, Owens has a good point when he says that the meat and beer are part of the restaurant’s heritage. The restaurant’s dishes and recipes are a combination of the dishes and recipes from different parts of the country.

I am going to be honest with you: I’ve only been here for two years and I still haven’t found the courage to go back. This week’s issue of *The Journal of the American Dietetic Association* is a special issue with a cover that shows a person eating a salad and a person eating a salad. The person eating the salad is the person who is eating it. The person eating the salad is the one who is eating the salad, and you can see the difference by looking at the two pictures side by side.
The problem is that this makes the whole thing feel like a game of telephone, and the way you feel is that you are constantly distracted, even during the meal. So you want to be paying attention to the conversation going on around you, not just the food.
We’ve actually had this problem before. In the movie “The Social Network,” the main character is constantly engaged in a conversation with his friend, but they’re too distracted by the food on their plates to pick up on any of the other sounds in the room. This is a great example of how social media can be distracting, but by focusing on the conversation you’re getting distracted.
