Ok, that was a bit of a mouthful. Well, at least we didn’t say “the summer is coming.
We’re talking about the summer season in Spain and the way it’s been going for many years now. The heat, the crowds, the parties, the constant entertainment and amusement of the opposite sex, the sun, the people, the festivals, the parks, the beaches, and the weather. But the summer has also been taking a toll on our minds, that’s for sure.
But to be honest, we have to admit we have had a bit of a summer. We have spent most of our summer in our old apartment in Rome, where we put away our bags and unpacked our things and went out. We have also taken a much needed vacation to Mexico which is a far different environment and one in which we feel we can relax.
In fact, the last few days have been very relaxing. We went to see a play, a play that has been running in our old apartment for over twenty years. The play is a hilarious and very funny adaptation of a short movie, which we had made, but it was always the same story, about a boy who is being given a hard time by his parents. But after the play, we had a couple of drinks and ended up having a great time.
It’s a play. And it’s funny. But I’ll always remember the first time I saw it. I was four years old. And I was playing with my friends when I saw the movie. I didn’t know it was a play at the time, so I think it probably was one of those things you can have a play in your house and not know it’s a play.
So you might have guessed that the story is the same as the film’s. It’s only the movie that’s different. And that is the movie that I want to go watch when I grow up.
