This brings us to the most recent of the new Deathloop trailers, a video that takes us to the fictional city of Blackreef. It tells us the story of how Colt Vahn, an amnesiac, woke up on the party island with no memory of why he’s on Deathloop’s party island, Blackreef.
He’s also the head of security for those Visionaries. That’s why he’s trying to kill them all. We see a couple of glimpses of him in the trailer. One of those glimpses was when we found that note in the sky. Someone has left him vague information about what to do.
While it’s possible that Colt’s amnesia is caused by something like a brain tumor, it’s also possible that Colt is suffering from a strange kind of amnesia. In that case, a normal memory would seem to be all that was needed to keep him safe, but if someone left a letter in the sky, and then Colt just suddenly forgets to call his wife, that’s a bit of a weird story altogether.
The weird thing is that one of the Visionaries is referred to as “the beloved”. Could he be the one who killed Colt? That would be weird because we never found anyone that seemed to take kindly to being called “the beloved”. Colt is more likely to be the one who had a wife, and is now trying to get revenge.
