There are many reasons why you don’t want to get married. A lot of it is out of fear, but some of it is actually just that you are not ready to take the next step, and don’t know you are ready. Maybe it’s not that you are not ready to be married, but that you’re not ready for the person you’re marrying.
The reason we are not ready for someone, or the reason we are not ready to marry someone, is because we’ve lost the ability to tell the difference between those two things. I am not saying to be afraid of marriage, because I would never discourage you from having your own relationship, but I am saying that this is a different thing. This is not about having a relationship, and it is not about having a marriage.
So, if you are still not ready to be married, I am not saying don’t get married, but don’t expect to get married. Marriage is meant to be a relationship between two people who are committed to each other. It’s not meant to be a relationship between two people who are getting married.
