It really didn’t make sense to us why there were non-smoking rooms, but it turned out that the resort was the first place we checked into after leaving the airport after a long flight. I guess we were just too stoned to notice.
This is actually the second time I’ve stayed at the resort. The first time was in 2003. That’s when I booked a room for a few days. The last time I was there was in 2012. So you can see why I had a hard time calling it a home.
I guess you could argue that they have a lot of the same services as hotels, but the carriages are a lot more comfortable. However, the resort is just way more expensive for the same room. The room I paid $199 per night, which is the same as a $200+ room at a hotel downtown. Even if you get the same room with the same amenities, you end up paying a lot more for all the extras.
Maybe it’s because I had my own phone and computer (and a tablet) back then, so I was able to compare my vacation to my own time. I guess I just expected a bit more space, a bigger bed, and more pillows.
