I am always on the search for the best mexican restaurant in the Palm Springs area. Most of them are only a few miles down the road from where I live. This time of year there isn’t a whole lot of other choice as far as good Mexican restaurants go. So I decided to take a drive down to Palm Springs to check out my top choices for the best mexican restaurants in the area.
The first place that caught my eye was the MexiMart located at the intersection of Palm Springs and Interstate 10. It was just down the street from where I lived so I was pretty excited to try it out.

The best for me was the Taco Del Mar, located across from the Palms at the intersection of Palm Springs and Interstate 10. It is a tiny, humble restaurant that has become my go-to spot for Mexican food in the area.
I got there earlier than my normal dinner time because I was trying to avoid the traffic from the nearby golf course. The food was good, and the staff was friendly, but my biggest complaint was the price. I’m pretty cheap, so I usually go there for just a sandwich, but the price was just too much. Not to mention the fact that the tacos are very salty.

On a recent trip to the restaurant, we went for lunch. And we were shocked at how good the food was. We were also surprised to learn that the tacos were not only good, but actually quite good. We also learned that the restaurant does not take reservations, so if you want to enjoy the best of everything, you will have to make your reservations.
While the taco bar is a good option for when youre on a fixed budget, the restaurant is about as good as it gets. The tacos are cooked slowly to perfection and are topped with cheese, avocado, and lettuce. That may sound a little silly to you, but it is actually quite impressive.
We were actually told that the restaurant is open Monday thru Thursday, and they are actually quite good at their taco bar. However, the Taco Bar does not take reservations and we were told that the taco bar is open only Saturday and Sunday.
To make up for the taco bar’s lack of reservation, the restaurant offers both the Taco Bar and the Taco Bar Plus, which has a larger menu and a bigger restaurant. Both the Taco Bar and the Taco Bar Plus can be found on the same street as the taco bar.
